Check Your Blind Spots

Check Your Blind Spots

The Blind Spot Zone when driving is the area around your vehicle that you cannot see when looking in your mirrors.

1. Check your mirrors regularly: Checking your rearview and side mirrors frequently will help you gain a better understanding of what’s happening around your car and avoid blind spot issues.

2. Adjust your mirrors: Ensure that your mirrors are properly adjusted so you have full visibility of your car’s surroundings. Make the necessary adjustments to ensure that you can see both side mirrors from the driver’s seat.

3. Look over your shoulder: Sometimes, you still may not be able to see everything through your mirrors. Take a quick look over your shoulder before changing lanes, just to be sure.

4. Use your turn signals: Use your turn signals well in advance of turning or changing lanes to let other drivers know of your intentions.

5. Increase your following distance: Leave plenty of space between your car and the vehicle in front of you. This will give you more time to react if the vehicle in front slows down or stops suddenly.

6. Avoid rushing and distractions while driving: Stay focused and patient while driving. Avoid distractions like using mobile phones, eating, grooming, reading, etc., that can distract you while driving.

7. Know your vehicle’s blind spots: Familiarize yourself with your car’s blind spots, while driving, and take necessary precautions to avoid accidents or collisions.

8. Always be aware of your surroundings: Keep a lookout for pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles, especially when turning or changing lanes.
